Over the last few weeks, GreenTown Los Altos supported a number of Earth Day events. Starting with the Los Altos Chamber Business expo on Thursday April 18th, GreenTown volunteers were present on Saturday April 20th at Wholefoods and Sunday April 21st at the Los Altos Earth Day event. Many people stopped by our table and learned more about our efforts in the community. A number of people committed to signing up for the newsletter as they wanted to hear about the regular environmental events in town. In addition, a number of GreenTown volunteers assisted the city this week, calling on Los Altos businesses to assist the city with the upcoming single use plastic bag ban starting on July 4th.
Starting on Thursday, May 2 and running to September 28th, GreenTown Los Altos volunteers are hosting bike valet services for people downtown. The bike parking is located on Third and State St across from the Costume Bank. Besides having an EV on display, a special guest from various groups is scheduled each week. If you have a few hours and want to support biking to town, we could use a few more volunteers.
Overall, many people in the community are recognizing our efforts to inspire people to take action and make an environmental difference.
