Join our first Cranksgiving Ride as we ride our bikes to purchase food to help the needy. Participants will ride to several grocery stores in Los Altos, buy items off a “manifest” that we provide and carry those items on their bikes to the finish. Register here.
The ride is divided into two groups: Backpacks and Haulers. The Backpack riders will be judged by time and manifest completion. The Hauler riders will be judged by total weight and manifest completion. A Hauler can use a bike, trailer, etc. to carry the most weight possible by pedal power. If you plan to use an E-bike contact us for a separate ticket. Children may ride with their parents. Rain will cancel.
Winners will be recognized at the end of the day and all food collected will be donated to the CSA, the Community Services Agency in Mountain View.
To participate, sign up below and come with your bike, helmet, lock and $20 to pay for the food you collect. The food you collect and donate is your only entry fee.
Meet at 1 pm to check in, sign a waiver, and receive your manifest and map. Ride starts at 1:30 pm
This is a prototype event will be used by GTLA to determine if this event can scale, should be repeated or could be adopted/executed with additional partners in Los Altos. Since 1999 “Cranksgivings” have taken place all over the America. Find out more at cranksgiving.org
