Be part of the plan to protect and enhance our local watersheds

On Saturday, September 22, 2012, environmentalists, policy makers and concerned citizens will gather at Foothill College and be inspired by excellent, knowledgable speakers, participate in collective problem-solving, and experience the comraderie of working together to build a more sustainable future. Register here.

Two keynote speakers are featured:

  • Brock Dolman directs the Occidental Arts and Ecology Center’s Water Institute. He is an expert on watersheds, wrote Basins of Relations, an empowering book for citizen activists on protecting our watersheds, and conducts tours and educational programs for the Center. Mr. Dolman coined the term “slow it, spread it, sink it” – which we like to use – for capturing stormwater.
  • Lester  Snow directs the California Water Foundation, which supports innovative projects and policies that address water challenges today as well as work toward longer-term solutions. Most recently, Mr. Snow served as California Secretary for Natural Resources, where he gained a reputation for solving complex natural resource management issues. Prior to that, Mr. Snow directed the California Department of Water Resources, which protects, conserves, and manages California’s water supply.

When and where:  Saturday, September 22, 8:30 am – 2pm, Foothill College Cafeteria, 12345 El Monte Road, Los Altos Hills [MAP]
